Player Information Sheet
Schedule of Play/Format:
- 36-holes, Four-Ball Stroke Play. Super Senior Division for competitors ages 65+. Super Senior Division competitors will also be competing for the overall Championship and will play from the same tees.
- In the event of a tie for first place, a hole-by-hole playoff will commence immediately following the completion of play at Veterans Memorial Golf Course
Rules of Play: The 2023 Rules of Golf are in effect and are supplemented by the MASS GOLF HARD CARD. The Committee will provide any additional Local Rules needed at the Championship site. It is the team’s responsibility to know the Terms of the Competition.
Policies & Procedures: Please refer to the Mass Golf POLICIES & PROCEDURES.
Golf Carts, Caddies, & Push/Pull Carts: Golf carts are permitted for the Championship proper and were included in the entry fee. The use of caddies, and push/pull carts is also permitted.
Starting Times: Can be found on the MASSACHUSETTS SENIOR FOUR-BALL CHAMPIONSHIP home page. Please make sure to be at your starting tee at least 10 minutes prior to your starting time to ensure that all proper instructions are received from the starter.
- For players starting on the 9th tee at Ludlow Country Club, head out to your starting hole 20-30 minutes prior to your tee time. Please proceed with caution and follow the signage.
STARTING TIMES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE BASED ON PLAYER WITHDRAWALS
Tees/ Approximate Yardage: Approximate yardage for the Championship Proper will be approximately 6,200 yards for both courses.

Practice Round Information: Discounted practice rounds will be available to all competitors at both courses at the discretion of the host club based on their availability. Please read carefully below.
Veterans Memorial Golf Course Practice Rounds
- Availability – Any day before 1pm
- Call the pro-shop 413-787-6449 to secure a tee time
- There will be a $37 mandatory cart/trail fee per player.
- Competitors will be limited to one practice round and may be paired up with other Senior Four-Ball Championship competitors.
- Only one ball may be played per competitor during their practice round.
- There is no practice range on site at Veterans Memorial GC.
Ludlow Country Club Practice Rounds
- Availability – Weekdays based on club availability, Weekends after 1pm.
- Call the pro-shop 413-583-3434
- There will be a $30 mandatory cart/trail fee per player.
- Competitors will be limited to one practice round and may be paired up with other Senior Four-Ball Championship competitors.
- Only one ball may be played per competitor during their practice round.
Veterans Memorial Golf Course Practice Facilities: For teams playing Veterans Memorial Golf Course, arrangements have been made for players to utilize the driving range at Fenway Golf (112 Allen St, East Longmeadow, MA 01028). All practice facilities/areas will be available starting at 6:30 AM on each day of the Championship proper.
Food & Beverage Services: Mass Golf will provide a complimentary luncheon during Round 1 of the Championship proper at both courses. Additional F&B items will be available (Drinks, snacks, alcohol, etc.) for players/caddies/spectators at their own expense – Breakfast services will be available to competitors at their own expense at Veterans Memorial Golf Club ONLY. Lunch will be available for purchase at the players expense for Round 2 from the Club’s restaurant for all competitors. The halfway house at Ludlow Country Club will be open starting at 8am each day - CASH ONLY.
Prizes: The James Shea Memorial Trophy and Super Senior Division Trophy will be presented to the Champions. Merchandise certificates will also be awarded and are only redeemable at the host site.
